Millions Trapped Under Siege Across Syria
On Thursday, 6 February, the parties to the conflict in Syria agreed under UN auspices to a three day 'humanitarian pause' in the Old City of Homs in order to allow the evacuation of the critically ill, women and children and the delivery of aid supplies to some 2,500 people trapped in the city for the past one year and eight months. UN agencies met the evacuees, provided them with food and medical care.
